- Connect and share ideas that provide sustainability to those communities.
Where in Haiti
Gonaives, with a population around 324,000 is the largest Haitian city outside of Port au Prince and its surrounding suburbs. It is known as the City of Independence because it was there that Jean-Jaques Dessalines declared Haiti’s independence from France in 1804.
Bethel is a village approximately 1 hour east of Port au Prince on the southern bank of Lake Azuei. Home to approximately 700 people, in recent years its residents have seen the transition from mud huts to block homes, and the development of a community church and fish farming operation to support the community.
Why We Go
God has put a calling in each of our hearts for the people of Haiti. Each of us has our own skill set and passion brought forward from our different backgrounds and life experiences. God brought us together and we have stepped out in faith to invest in the lives of the people whom we have formed relationships with in a tangible and meaningful way.
